A police officer witnesses the crash of Marine One and leads the president on a perilous escape.
While bicycling along the C&O Canal, Crow O'Leary, an off-duty police officer, witnesses the attack on the President's helicopter. At the crash site, he is unwittingly thrown into a battle to defend the President and his Chief of Staff as they escape.
While fleeing, the trio discovers that not only are foreign terrorists involved, but other domestic forces are attempting an armed coup. Crow must overcome his great sin, regain his courage, and prove himself worthy of protecting the President.
With more twists and turns than the winding C&O Canal Trail, the reader asks, will they survive? Or will Crow again fail to protect a person important to him?
